10代の自分は毎週末、ノーチャージで（とはいっても葉山ボールを何杯もお代わりしていたが）良質なJAZZが聴けることもあり、1階に通っていた。社会人になってからは何かにつけてオーダーを親身に聞いて頂けることもあり2階のレストランや3階の貸切などを恋人であったり、友人の誕生日の折々に大変お世話になっていた。あれから30年弱、オーナーが亡くなられ、シェフも店の名前も何度か変わり、ジャンレノそっくりだった渋過ぎるバーテンダーが急逝され、その他当時のスタッフももう殆ど残っていない。喜八さん、平田さんと受け継がれてきた素晴らしい料理もあれからすっかり様変わりしたがあの建屋の雰囲気と葉山の海の風は当時とそれ程は変わっていないと思う。
